There are plenty of all-in-one multi-effect units on the market, but many guitarists still prefer to use conventional effects pedals to get the sound they want. These individual stomp boxes offer great sound quality, but connecting several pedals deteriorates that quality because of noise and other interference. Additionally, many effects pedals use simple on/off switching, which also affects the tonality of guitars.  The solution: the Noahsark PTBS-1 Programmable True Bypass Switcher. A true-bypass switch system with digital control and quality circuit design, the PTBS-1 lets you use up to 5 effects pedals with virtually no loss in sound quality.

[True-bypass switching]

The term true-bypass switching is well known among guitarists who seek the utmost quality in professional guitar effects pedals, these guitarists are aware that conventional analog on/off type switches or FET electronic switching used in ordinary stomp boxes can interfere with the purity of your sound. The reason is that the input signal from a guitar is always connected to the circuitry of each pedal, regardless of whether a particular effect is on or off.  By contrast, true-bypass switching changes both the input and output signals simultaneously, so the incoming guitar sound bypass the circuitry when the effect is switched off, and is output directly.  This eliminates the unwanted tonal changes caused by serially connected effects pedals.  In addition, the Noahsark PTBS-1 employs high-quality relays for the true-bypass switching circuitry, enabling convenient digital control. Unlike other true-bypass systems that use conventional analog switches, the Noahsark PTBS-1 employs high-quality digital relays for the true-bypass switching circuitry, enabling convenient digital control.

[5 effects loops]

Up to 5 effects devices can be connected to the PTBS-1, allowing it to serve as a convenient control center for your effects pedal board.  Each of the loops ON/OFF conditions is clearly indicated by LEDs.

[25 programmable combinations]

In addition to manual control, 25 (5 banks x 5 programs) user-defined loop On/Off configurations can be stored in the program memory for instant recall. For example, this allows you to change your guitar sound instantly; switching from ultra-clean chorus to heavy distortion with long delay.

[Built-in high-quality buffer amp]

A professional-quality buffer amp using uncompromised discrete FET circuitry is incorporated at the input stage of the PTBS-1, this buffer amp delivers impedance as high as full-tube guitar amps, preserving the guitar¡¯s original tone and enabling noise-free effects processing.

[Mute switch and tuner output]

An independent mute switch and a dedicated output jack for a guitar tuner are provided or convenient on-stage tuning.

[Controlling external devices]

The Loop 5 connectors of the PTBS-1 can be used for remote control of external devices such as channel selection of guitar amps and in/out switching of rack-mount signal processors. This setting can also be saved in the program memory along with other Loop On/Off settings.
